It falls upon the Me to We movement to alter the course of history. During your parents' era, mankind walked on the moon, yet did not conquer hunger. They saw eons into space, and yet slavery was not abolished. Men gazed into the very genetic coding of our design, and yet child soldiers still carried guns. The atom was split, but a billion still drank polluted water.
Together, we cast our sights on the annihilation of these injustices in our time. The ripples of our generation will echo throughout the ages saying, "We beat poverty, we conquered hunger, and every child went to school." This mighty wave will become the tide that shapes the flow of history. My friends, a new day is dawning, where Apathy is dead and passion for change consumes us.
Gandhi said, "A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of History." But we are no small body. We are a movement whose time has come. Over a million youth have joined hearts together to sweep our country and the world with epic changes.
Goals
Change Unleashed's mandate is to distribute over a million inspirational and social justice posters within the next five years, and to open the floodgates with our resources such as graphic comics, comics, and magazines that challenge youth to know that there are no limits to what we can achieve. There are no heights we cannot overcome, no obstacles we cannot surmount, and no foe that cannot be defeated.
Foundational Story
Let me share one of my Me to We moments, when I shifted from a self-focused life to one of service.
My spark was lit when I started my graphic design program at college and came across a U.N. document that changed the course of my life. What I read that day cut my heart:
"Tonight, 300 million children will go to bed hungry."
I couldn't believe I lived in a world where this still happened to children! God pierced me through with a message, "This is your cause... My heart is broken with this." I was gripped by words from my Creator, but I protested. "What can I do? I'm just one person."
Then it hit me—I'm a budding graphic designer now. I can create inspirational posters and open the floodgates of these issues. And we've done just that. Here are a few of them.
My heros became the great Christian activists of our age. Oh, how I want to be like Mother Teresa, William Wilberforce, and Martin Luther King Jr! I listen and watch them again and again and again until I'm seared through with their passion. And, like them, I would echo that my greatest hero is Jesus Christ, my Savior. He look me off my path of darkness and set it on a path of light.
This website highlights the work of many diverse revolutionary thinkers and activists of our times. I hope that it will be an inspiration for youth of all creeds. God bless you all!
